Glyn Williams
Author and Adventurer
Glyn Williams was born in 1951 and brought up in the north west of England.
He studied music at the universities of Liverpool and Reading, and spent twenty-three years (1982-2005) teaching music at the Liverpool Community College.
In 2005 he moved to the British International School Moscow, where in his spare time he contributed reviews to The Opera Critic Magazine.
A lifelong writer with a passion for social history, Glyn has contributed to various publications, including The Liverpool History Journal and the matchday programme of Prescot Cables FC.
Glyn has published one short book about the first half century of football in Prescot and several volumes of travel diaries.
A prolific writer
Between 2012 and 2017 Glyn wrote a regular history column published in the match programme of his hometown non-League football team Prescot Cables as well as a number of articles on music in Liverpool for The Liverpool History Journal.
As far back as 1998 he has written hitherto unpublished accounts of his travels in the USA, Canada, Cyprus, Germany, Austria, Italy, Russia, Ireland, the Baltic States, and the UK
